The Fortune Hunter (Diane Farr Books edition)
Desperate and destitute, wicked Lord Rival has drawn up a list of rich single women who might be willing to wed -- and mysterious, reclusive Lady Olivia Fairfax heads the list. But when he finally meets the elusive Lady Olivia, she is hardly the lonely naif he expected. Her quick wit and sweet temper completely entrance him -- and make it difficult to bring his heartless seduction to a conclusion.
"Splendidly written ... A to-die-for hero and a heroine you'd want as a best friend. I enjoyed every word." -- Julia Quinn
"Filled with romantic tension and laughter." -- The Best Reviews
Oh, Lord Rival ... you rascal, you. I invented you to be a villain in Falling for Chloe, but you stole my heart and demanded your own book. Here it is. Now available as a Kindle edition HERE and a Smashwords edition (for Nook, Sony e-reader, etc.) HERE.
Lord Rival is the only character I ever invented who was directly inspired by someone in real life: the young Sean Connery as James Bond. I was watching Goldfinger with my husband and thinking to myself, "THAT is the sexiest man ever. But if you actually encountered him, you'd hate him! What an arrogant, sexist, heartless pig he is -- to him, women are completely disposable -- every woman he meets thinks she will be the one to captivate him, but he just leaves a trail of broken hearts in his wake -- augh! I think I'll put him in Regency clothes, drop him into a book, and give him his come-uppance!" So I did. But as I was writing Falling for Chloe, it became clear that dear little Chloe was no match for this man. I had to write The Fortune Hunter to give him a heroine worth his salt.
